About BestNameIdeas
BestNameIdeas is a small, independently run site that does one thing: it helps you find a name. Every page pairs a generator you can run as many times as you want with a curated list you can browse when you would rather pick than roll, because those are two different moods and most sites only serve one of them.
How the generators work
Each generator carries its own set of word parts, chosen for the category it serves, and combines them on the fly in your browser. Nothing is fetched from a server while you click, so the button responds immediately and keeps responding if your connection drops.
Where a category has meaningful variants, a control lets you steer the result rather than reroll blindly. The output is unlimited: there is no daily quota, no counter and no upgrade to buy.
How the lists are made
The lists are hand picked, not generator output. They exist because a shuffled name has no context and sometimes what you actually want is to read thirty good options and recognise one. When a list entry carries a note, that note is there to help you choose, and it stays inside the fiction the name belongs to rather than making claims about real languages.
What this site deliberately does not do
The list is short and it is the point of the place.

- No paywall, no generation limits and no premium tier.
How it is paid for
Advertising, and nothing else. There is no subscription and no product to buy. Advertisements are served by third-party vendors and are kept out of the way of the generator and the lists. What that means for cookies is set out in the Cookie Policy.
