Cookie Policy
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so that something can be remembered between requests. This page says exactly which cookies you can expect on BestNameIdeas, who sets them, what they are for, and how to refuse them. It is part of the Privacy Policy.
Cookies we set
None. The site has no accounts to keep you logged into, no cart, no preferences to remember and no analytics of our own that need an identifier. The generators run in your browser and store nothing: reload the page and every trace of what you generated is gone.
Cookies set by others
Two kinds of third-party cookie can appear on a page here.
- Security and delivery cookies from the content delivery provider that serves the site. These tell automated abuse apart from real visitors and keep the site reachable. They are strictly necessary, they carry no advertising identifier, and the site does not work properly without them.
- Advertising cookies from advertising vendors, including Google and its partners. These are used to select which advertisements to show, to limit how many times you see the same one, and to measure whether an advertisement worked. They are not strictly necessary, and where the law requires it they are set only after you consent.
How to control cookies
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, either for all sites or site by site, usually under a privacy or security settings menu. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from loading. Blocking advertising cookies does not.
You can also switch off personalised advertising at the source: Google offers an Ads Settings page that controls personalisation across the sites it serves, and the Digital Advertising Alliance and the Network Advertising Initiative run pages that let you opt out of many vendors at once. Those opt-outs are themselves stored in your browser, so they are lost if you clear your cookies or switch device.
Where a consent banner is shown, it is the fastest control available: refuse, and the non-essential cookies are never set.
Do Not Track
Browsers can send a Do Not Track signal, but there is no agreed standard for how a site should answer it, so most sites ignore it. Since this site sets no cookies of its own and builds no profile of you, the signal makes no practical difference to what we do.
