Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of BestNameIdeas. They are short on purpose, because the site asks almost nothing of you: there is no account to open and no agreement to sign. By using the site you accept what follows, and if you do not accept it the remedy is simply to stop using the site.
What the site offers
Free name generators and curated name lists, published as ordinary web pages. Access is free and requires no registration. We may add pages, change them, or take them down without notice, and we do not promise the site will be available without interruption.
The names you generate
Use them however you like. We claim no ownership over any name a generator produces for you and we ask for no credit, no licence fee and no attribution. Use them for characters, pets, teams, servers, projects, stories or anything else.
That freedom is ours to give only over our own output. It is not a guarantee that a given name is free for you to use in the world. Names are produced by recombining ordinary word parts, so a generator can and will land on a word that somebody else already uses as a business name, a trademark or a handle. Before you put a name on anything commercial, check the relevant trademark register and the relevant company register yourself, or ask a professional to. That check is your responsibility, not ours.
Acceptable use
You may read, use and share the pages here as any visitor would. You may not do the following.
- Copy the curated lists, the page text or the underlying data in bulk to republish them elsewhere, whether by hand or with automated tools.
- Run automated requests at a rate that degrades the site for other people.
- Attempt to breach, probe or interfere with the site, its hosting or its security measures.
- Use anything from this site in a way that is unlawful, or to harass, defame or impersonate anybody.
Our content
The page text, the curated lists, the design, the code and the arrangement of everything on this site belong to us and are protected by copyright. Quoting a short passage with a link back is fine. Wholesale reproduction is not.
Names and trademarks that belong to other people
Some categories on this site are inspired by fictional worlds, games and franchises. Those worlds and their trademarks belong to their owners. This site is independent: it is not affiliated with, authorised by, endorsed by or connected to any of them, and nothing here should be read as official. Names in those categories are original creations in a similar style, not extracts from the works themselves. If you own such rights and think a page oversteps, write to us and we will look at it promptly.
No warranty
The site is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that it will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, error free or fit for any particular purpose, and we do not warrant that any name it produces is available, original or suitable for you to use.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site, including lost profit, lost opportunity, or any cost arising from a name you chose here. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Links and advertising
The site links to other websites and carries advertising served by third parties. We do not control what is on those destinations and we are not responsible for them. Any dealing you have with an advertiser is between you and that advertiser.
Changes, governing law and contact
