Privacy Policy
This policy explains what happens to information when you visit BestNameIdeas. The short version: the site has no accounts, no sign-up, no newsletter and no forms, so there is nothing for you to hand over and nothing for us to store about you. The longer version below covers the automatic records every website produces, the cookies third parties may set, and the rights you can exercise over any of it.
Scope of this policy
This policy applies to the website at bestnameideas.com and to every page on it. It does not apply to any other website you reach from here, including sites reached through an advertisement. Those sites run their own policies and we have no control over them.
Information you give us
None. There is no registration, no login, no comment system, no newsletter and no contact form on this site. The name generators run entirely inside your browser: the word parts are already in the page when it loads, nothing you type or select is sent anywhere, and no generated name is recorded.
If you choose to email us, we receive whatever you put in that message, including your email address. We use it to answer you and for nothing else. We do not add it to a mailing list.
Information collected automatically
Like every website, this one is delivered by a hosting and content delivery provider that keeps short-lived server records of the requests it serves. Those records can include the IP address making the request, the browser and operating system it reports, the page requested, the referring page and the time of the request.
Those records exist so the provider can deliver pages, block abuse and defend against attacks. They are technical logs, they are not linked to any profile of you by us, and we do not use them to identify individual visitors.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. It stores nothing in your browser: no local storage, no session storage, no fingerprinting. Cookies that do appear come from third parties, and they are described in the Cookie Policy, which is part of this policy by reference.
Advertising
This site is supported by advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by Google through the Google Ads Settings page. You can opt out of personalised advertising by many other vendors at once through the industry pages run by the Digital Advertising Alliance and the Network Advertising Initiative. Opting out does not remove advertising, it makes what you see less tailored.
Where the law requires consent for advertising cookies, that consent is requested before those cookies are set, and you can change or withdraw it at any time using the same control.
Analytics
We may use privacy-conscious traffic measurement and the reporting tools that search engines provide for site owners, such as aggregate reports of which queries and pages bring visitors. Those reports are aggregated and do not identify individual visitors to us.
Legal bases for processing
Where data protection law in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom applies, the legal basis for keeping technical server records is our legitimate interest in delivering a working, secure website. The legal basis for advertising cookies that are not strictly necessary is your consent. The legal basis for replying to an email you send us is our legitimate interest in answering correspondence.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw consent you previously gave. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
Because this site holds no user accounts and no records that identify you, in most cases the honest answer to an access request is that there is nothing to send. Write to us anyway if you want that confirmed.
If you are a California resident
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising in exchange for money. You have the right to know what is collected, to ask for deletion, to correct inaccurate information and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Requests go to the contact address below.
Children
This site is not directed to children under the age of thirteen and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
Retention and transfers
Technical server records are kept only as long as the hosting provider needs them for delivery and security, which is a matter of days rather than months. Email correspondence is kept while it is useful to keep and deleted afterwards.
Our hosting, delivery and advertising providers operate internationally, so data handled by them may be processed outside your country, including in the United States, under the transfer safeguards those providers publish.
Links to other websites
Pages here may link to other websites, and advertisements will take you off this site entirely. Once you leave, this policy stops applying. We are not responsible for the content or the privacy practices of any site we do not run, and a link is not an endorsement.
Changes to this policy
This policy changes when the site changes, for example if a new measurement or advertising provider is added. The version published on this page is always the one that applies, so check back if it matters to you.
How to contact us
Privacy questions, access requests and deletion requests go to contact@bestnameideas.com. Say what you are asking for and we will deal with it.
